Welcome to Lo Creates Things
Lo, herself
Crafting and creating was always a hobby that I found myself doing cathartically in my free time. I grew up with very strong women in my life that were always doing things themselves and not always the traditional way. Fixing things. Creating things. Selling things. With both my Mom and Grandma being former art gallery goers and jewelry sellers, I was bound to pick up pliers at some point. Then 2020 hit and I was making rings and selling them in the height of the pandemic.
You’ll find me on youtube trying to teach myself a new hobby or the latest trend. I don’t like to limit myself to just one “thing” I can make or attempt. I enjoy dabbling in many different crafts to also gain an appreciation to those who are experts in their craft. You begin to understand how unique and rare it is to find things handmade and the time it takes someone to create it. There’s all this fast fashion and mass production with machines across the world and we get so use to getting clothing or decor or jewelry at the ease of a purchase. We don’t always stop to think and appreciate how it is made. How was it originally made before the technology we have now?
So I catch myself shopping and picking up things and thinking, Can I make this myself? And I do this everywhere I go. Is it realistic? Not really. Is this mindset a little bit of flaw? Yes. Am I going to attempt to make it? You bet. Does it always work out? No, but I end up with that appreciation of those who make these things and walk around with a different perspective of different materials being sold across the world.
So I bring you Lo Create Things because I get so much joy from sharing my creations with you all. What better gift than one made with love. By Lo.
